Importance of Improving Performance in People

There are many barriers to teamwork and collaboration in today's organizational model. The largest barrier being the people involved. The people in your organization are vital to your success. There are many differences between teammates and people that can stifle creative behavior and lead to unproductive tension. Understanding your colleagues preferences when solving problems can help relieve that unproductive tension during meetings and collaborative teamwork.

Understanding a person's preference for solving problems helps you to develop and promote their creative strengths. Some people prefer to generate radical, new, and novel ideas. While others feel more comfortable generating incremental, fine-tuned solutions to existing ideas or problems. Understanding colleagues, and your own style preferences increases productivity in teams and workgroups as well as reducing creative tensions.
